My name is Brenda Desjardins, I was born in Neepawa, Manitoba, I am proudly of French Canadian and Ojibwe decent. I am a self-taught artist, I work mostly in contemporary abstract art. I like the freeness and chaos of abstractions.
I use the heavier bodied acrylics to get a base of intense hues that I want a hint of at the completion of my work. The painting begins to transform through pours, floods, tilting and pooling. The pigments in the paint separate and settle giving the piece a fluid look.
My current work is non-objective. My hope is that those who view my work are engaged by the piece, want to touch it, be drawn in by it.
